Please sit back and watch these videos and ask yourself if whether or not these are pointing people to Jesus Christ or not. The Holy Spirit came to convict the world of sin, judgment and righteousness and ultimately to point people to Jesus Christ. One way of testing whether or not someone is truly of the Lord is to listen to what it is that actually comes out of their mouth. Never mind their fancy statement of faith, but what do they teach and say about God? Do they point people to the saving work of Jesus Christ's death on the cross? Do they teach that we are born sinners and that we deserve hell because we have willfully rebelled against our Creator?(Romans 1) Do they teach that in and of ourselves we cant do anything to get right with God on our own because of our sins against Him?(Mark 10:18) What about Christs death on the cross, and His willingness to take the punishment for sinners on that cross? (Philipians 2:8) Do they teach that Christ became our propitiation for sins on the cross, that He was the Perfect, Infinite sacrifice for us? (1 John 4:10) What about the deity of Christ, was He fully God and fully man or was He a man part of the time and part of the time God?(John 1)What about the burial and resurrection of our Lord? You see, its not enough to say that you believe in God and Jesus, even the demons believe that. (James 2:19) Its not enough to say that Jesus died for our sins - (Mormons believe that too). We must preach the whole Gospel, virgin birth, punishment on the cross, death, burial and resurrection. (1 Cor. 15:3-4) And that in order for a person to receive forgiveness for their sins they must repent, turn from their sins, and put all their trust in Him alone. When we hear a person proclaim these things without distorting the nature and character of God, we have a pretty good idea that they are of the Lord.
This message was part of Bethel's Easter message in 2008.
The man speaking is Bill Johnson. Not one mention of the cross, or the resurrection mentioned. Why not? I can't help but think of this verse when I watch this mesage:
2 Timothy 4:3-4
"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths."
I heard the whole message and trust me, no soul that attended that day heard the Gospel, it was absent.
Again, how does any of this message point people to the finished work of Jesus Christ? It doesn't.
Holy Ghost Hokey Pokey?

This isn't Bethel but Morniningstar (Rick Joyner) is very good friends with Bethel.
My question: Isn't Jesus enough?
